Executive Director of Foundation & Associate Vice President of Development

The Executive Director of Foundation & Associate Vice President of Development leads efforts to enhance institutional development, fundraising, and community engagement. This position is responsible for the College's Foundation, ensuring financial integrity and cultivating relationships with donors and stakeholders. This role involves building community connections while aligning advancement activities with the College's goals. Collaboration with the College President and Foundation Board is essential to driving strategic initiatives and fostering growth.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as President’s liaison to CVTC Foundation.
• Relationship Building with High-Value and Legacy Donors: Strategically develop, nurture, and strengthen relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations capable of making significant financial contributions to the institution. Engage with donors through personalized outreach, events, and recognition programs to deepen their commitment.
• Integrated Fundraising Strategy: Design a cohesive fundraising strategy that incorporates annual campaigns, capital initiatives, planned giving programs, and grant acquisitions. Leverage data analytics to identify trends, target potential donors, and refine approaches for sustained success.
• Operational and Financial Excellence: Develop and oversee the annual Foundation operating budget. Oversee the Foundation's operations, including financial planning, investment strategies, and regulatory compliance. Ensure all fundraising activities align with legal, ethical, and institutional guidelines while maintaining financial transparency.
• Tailored Donor Recognition: Lead the creation of stewardship programs that show gratitude for donor contributions. Utilize impact reports, naming opportunities, and personalized updates to demonstrate the value of donor investments.
• Visionary Goal Alignment: Collaborate closely with the College President, executive team, and Foundation Board to ensure that all advancement activities are aligned with the institution’s long-term strategic objectives. Develop measurable goals and adapt plans to achieve them effectively.
• Advanced Analytics for Growth: Implement systems to track performance metrics, donor engagement levels, and campaign outcomes. Use this data to inform decision-making and refine strategies for continuous improvement. Craft and disseminate compelling narratives that showcase the institution’s success stories, transformative initiatives, and fundraising goals. Tailor messages to resonate with diverse audiences, including donors, and the community.
• Comprehensive Brand Strategy: Lead efforts to develop and maintain a consistent, professional brand identity across all communication channels, including social media, events, and campaigns. Amplify the institution's reputation locally, regionally, and nationally.
• Establish and execute all Foundation processes, including policies and procedures for the Foundation Board.
• Organize and coordinate all special events (i.e. Scholarship Luncheon, Spring Gala, annual awards).
• Maintain positive, collaborative, professional, mutually beneficial relationships with College employees and Board members.
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate all Foundation employees.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the broad range and impact of Foundation activities on the mission of the College.

• Ability to recognize personal biases, adapt to different cultural situations, and demonstrate a commitment to respectful interactions with persons of various ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, or educational backgrounds.
• Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to CVTC campuses and other locations as needed to perform position responsibilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, Business Administration, Communications or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of supervisory/management experience required.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with a board of directors.
• Experience with workforce and industry alignment within the public sector, including fundraising, and an understanding of the unique mission and challenges of a two-year technical college.
• Demonstrated success in comprehensive development program management including, but not limited to: capital campaigns, endowment growth, planned giving, prospect research, budget management, and donor recognition.
