    Based on hourly staff, level 3: Starting rate of $16.62 and midpoint of $19.11. Pay rate will be commensurate with qualifications.

    7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. This position is customer-focused and will require the ability to adjust schedule to meet college, department, and customer needs.

  • Overview and Responsibilities

    The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing a variety of manual and technical work requiring advanced skills specifically related to the repair and maintenance of Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) facilities.This position reports to the Facilities Manager.



    • Maintain, operate, and repair facility systems including HVAC, electrical, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, exhaust fans, air compressors, water treatment, etc.
    • Monitor and operate building automation system for efficient operation.
    • Maintain and install Direct Digital Control (DDC) and pneumatic HVAC controls.
    • Repair, install, modify, renovate, or remove equipment owned or operated by CVTC.
    • Maintain inventory of preventative maintenance supplies including air filters, belts, etc.
    • Assist with maintenance of other building and program equipment as needed.
    • Assist with snow removal including plowing and shoveling sidewalks and parking lots.
    • Provide set-up assistance and support for program and campus events.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Advanced knowledge of HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance skills as related to commercial/industrial buildings.
    • Advanced skills in operation and maintenance of tools and equipment related to facility maintenance.
    • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as snowplows and forklifts.
    • Ability to model integrity through self-awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
    • Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.

    • Basic knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, general building automation software (Andover preferred), CMMS, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.


    • Minimum of a technical diploma in a related trades program, associate’s degree in HVAC or electro-mechanical field preferred.
    • Minimum of two years of related work experience required, two years of specific experience in HVAC including building automation systems preferred.
    • Experience working with vendors and contractors.
    • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, including meeting all requirements as indicated by CVTC’s insurance carrier.
    • Ability to obtain CVTC forklift certification.
