    Based on hourly staff, level 5: starting rate of $14.38 and midpoint of $16.54. Pay rate will be commensurate with qualifications.
    Hours per Week
    Hours will vary, not to exceed an average of 20 hours per week annually.
    Work Schedule
    Schedule will vary between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 2 -3 days per week, Monday – Friday. This position is customer-focused and may require the ability to adjust schedule to meet campus and customer needs.

  • Overview and Responsibilities

    In cooperation with the campus Learning Center, this position is responsible for providing student/customer service, receptionist services, and general clerical support at CVTC’s Neillsville campus. This position functions independently and in concert with other College locations and reports to the Chippewa Falls Campus Administrator.



    • Demonstrate commitment to exceptional customer service standards. 
    • Serve as the first point of contact at the Neillsville campus for telephone, walk-in, and email customers for the following student services: records and registration, admissions, academic advising, financial aid, Business and Industry training, and general College information.
    • Provide clerical support for continuing education courses, Group Dynamics, traffic safety courses, etc.
    • Coordinate room reservations/billings, room technology support, and other set up functions for CVTC and outside groups.
    • Provide assistance in the area of grants (e.g., clerical support, billing, reporting, and certification).
    • Prepare packets for students and instructors.
    • Resolve duplicate student identification numbers with Records and Registration office.
    • Provide web conferencing support to students and staff.
    • Monitor timely snow removal and maintenance in accordance with College safety requirements.
    • Maintain supplies for office area and general classroom/lab use. 
    • Maintain petty cash.
    • Administer student assessments when Learning Center is not open.
    • May direct activities of work study students.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of and ability to provide general support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer and other office and classroom equipment.
    • Basic knowledge of general office policy and procedures.
    • Ability to use judgment, discretion, and decision making skills in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
    • Ability to learn and adhere to College policies, and procedures.
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
    • Ability to deal with and manage conflict.
    • Ability to work nonstandard hours as necessary.

    • Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.


    • Minimum of a technical diploma in Office Assistant or related field.
    • Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service or professional office environment.
