The Academic Advisor & Student Success Specialist assists students in making informed decisions about academic matters including advisement on programs, admission, registration, financial aid, and related topic areas at the River Falls campus. The Academic Advisor & Student Success Specialist will identify, assess, advise, support and case manage new and continuing students deemed at-risk for the purpose of improving student performance through target interventions. This position supports administration, the Student Service team and instructional staff. This position is part of the Academic Advising and Student Success team and reports to the Director of Advising and Services. The duties and responsibilities of this position are germane only to the policies and procedures set forth by CVTC as well as the affiliated local, state, and federal programs associated with an education institution. Any licensure or certification which is required for this position is stated in this job description; individuals are expected to perform duties only in the scope of the position as written.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and integrated database applications (e.g. Banner, ADVISE).
