Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to be considered when adjunct and/or substitute instructors are needed to teach Plumber Apprenticeship courses. Adjunct instructors are hired on a per course basis. Courses are taught face-to-face in classroom, lab, or clinical settings; online; or a combination of online and face-to-face.
All CVTC instructors are required to meet with students and/or attend meetings on-site on a regular basis. This means that all instructors, including online instructors, must live within driving distance of CVTC campuses. Campuses are located in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Menomonie, Neillsville and River Falls, Wisconsin.
- Provide instruction in the design and installation of plumbing including, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Storm and clear water systems
- Sanitary drains and venting systems
- Onsite waste disposal systems (POWTS)
- Water distribution systems
- Isometric drawing
- Plumbing repair
- Plumbing applications
- Print reading and interpretation
- Code interpretation
Design and implement effective learning strategies and environments.
Deliver instruction of high quality.
Assess student learning.
Maintain labs as appropriate.
Participate in college activities and pursue ongoing professional development.
Develop a relevant and progressive curriculum.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Working knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Familiarity with the construction contracting, including knowledge of contracts, estimating, residential building codes and material selection.
- Knowledge of sustainable building technologies.
- Knowledge of site and building layout, including familiarity with the use of builder’s levels, transits and other layout tools.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions in plumbing systems.
Ability to model integrity through self-awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.
